From Mediocre to Marathon!!

Welcome to my Journey from a okay runner to a Marathoner!!!

What’s this all about? Who am I? Why am I doing a Marathon!?

Firstly this all began 2nd Year of university where I saw a optional module called “Born to Run” for my psychology course. I was already doing a little bit of running towards the end of 2nd year so was intrigued to what the course was about. After having a deeper look into the module I found the main aim was to get everyone on the course to run a Marathon! So at that point I knew the module was for me! So I picked the module, got my choice and now I’m here, 16 weeks away from doing the Liverpool Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon!

But naturally as this is part of a psychology degree I can’t just go running and get a 1st for my degree (wouldn’t that be the dream?!), I have to incorporate different aspects of psychology such as positive, sport and behavioural techniques into my running and training to get the marks. All of which I’ll have to document via this blog and with the help of Strava (my running app of choice).

So hopefully I can channel the power of psychology to help with my goal setting, boost my running performance and maybe ,if I’m lucky, some of these running focus techniques will spill out into my personal life too and make me a little more organised and task focused. So lets see how these next 16 weeks go!!!
